Antique Boat Sales & Restoration
Katz's Marina is located on Lake Hopatcong in New Jersey where a long history of antique and classic boating has existed. The property where Katz's Marina is located has been the site of a marina since the early 1900's.
Charlie Thompson was the first owner and started calling his business Northwood Boat & Engine Works in 1922. Mr. Thompson was a well-known boat racer and at one time owned Miss Hopatcong which was one of the three Baby Gar race boats that graced the waters of Lake Hopatcong. Mr. Thompson also raced Miss Hopatcong in Connecticut and Dorchester Bay, Boston.
Mr. Thompson sold his business to Bill Davis in 1960. The picture above is how the marina appeared in 1966. In 1973 the marina was purchased by Wayne Mocksfield and renamed Wayne's Marine.
Wayne and his marina went on to become a pioneer in the restoration of antique and classic boats, winning top awards at all of the top east coast boat shows.
Katz's Marina will continue the wooden boat heritage on Lake Hopatcong with award winning restorations and outstanding customer service.
